RC Update

So a few weeks ago Riley and I started talking about the good 'ol days of the Rustler and the Stampeed. Crawlers are so amazing but there is something about going 30 miles an hour through anything that just grabs. We were looking mostly at the Losi Desert Truck. Aesthetically, it is a great truck! Awesome body, head and tail lights, roll cage, the works... But it reminded me too much of the Rustler. So I got on line and started reading reviews. Every review I mentioned the Traxxas Slash and how much better it was. So naturally I turned to YouTube. Within an hour I was sending videos to Riley. He wasn't too impressed but the more he watched the more intrieged he became. Then came the real question... How do we propose this to our wives? I proposed to Mary that each get a new toy as we had just received my bonus at work and our tax return. Easy peesie... She has wanted a Cricket for a while for her scrapbooking hobby so she agreed. Riley took more of an asset trading approach and put his Losi Mini Crawler on eBay. With this we were set to go! I found the Slash on eBay for $199.00 plus $20 shipping. Then I noticed that the location was Ogden so I sent him and email and asked if we could pick it up. He informed me that it had sold in his store and the auction would be cancelled. That's not cool I thought so I emailed him back and asked if I bought two of them if he would honor that price. He told me he couldn't but agreed to do both trucks for $435.00. Deal! I drove straight up and got them! The paint jobs on the body weren't our favorites but really who cares... now they are covered with scratches, mud, etc... so awesome! These trucks are soo fast straight out of the box! They handle so well and the suspension is amazing. They do flip if you turn at full speed on the ashalt but it's funny to watch so it's worth it! Riley and I set out to drive but of course, our sweet wives insisted on driving as they had agreed to the deal. Both of them took off full speed, panicked, swirved, rolled, punched it again, near miss to the parked car, then the curb, but within about 15 seconds handed the radio back, smiled, and said "Wow, they are fast... here you go". HAHAHAHA... we warned you guys!!! We need to post some better pics soon but here are some taken by Dave's iphone last night at the skate park:
Tim's Slash over Ri's
The double jump... Good work camera man!

And it doesn't look that big but it cleared the cement by a long shot!
More to come soon!!!
